Pana in anul 2030, 60% din gama Range Rover va fi electrificata. Toate Land Rovers-urile viitoare – mai mici Discovery Sport si Range Rover Evoque si modelele mai mari Defender, Discovery si Range Rover – vor fi construite pe una dintre cele doua arhitecturi de convergenta care permit atat versiunile electrice hibride, cat si cele cu baterie ale aceluiasi vehicul. Sase Land Rovers complet electrice urmeaza sa fie lansate in urmatorii cinci ani, iar CEO-ul JLR, Thierry Bolloré, spune ca 60% din gama Land Rover va fi alimentata cu baterie pana in 2030.

Platforma si Powertrain

Cele doua noi arhitecturi ale platformei Land Rover se numesc MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) si EMA (Electric Modular Architecture). MLA este conceput pentru Land Rovers mai mari – familiile Defender, Discovery si Range Rover – iar EMA va sta la baza modelelor Discovery Sport si Range Rover Evoque de generatia urmatoare. Land Rover va construi modele bazate pe MLA in renumita sa fabrica Solihull si va construi modele EMA in fabrica Halewood a companiei, unde produce astazi Discovery Sport si Range Rover Evoque.

Strategia platformei de convergenta ofera flexibilitate de fabricatie, dar are ca rezultat o arhitectura mai grea si mai compromisa, din cauza necesitatii de a gazdui doua grupuri de propulsie complet diferite. Cu toate acestea, dupa cum insista Bolloré, Land Rovers trebuie sa ramana cele mai capabile SUV-uri din segmentul lor. Aceasta include si modele de motoare cu ardere interna; platforma de convergenta este probabil cea mai buna solutie pe termen mediu. Bolloré spune ca Land Rover „va atinge zero emisii de evacuare pana in 2036”, moment in care putem presupune ca toate modelele vor fi construite pe o platforma BEV dedicata.

SUV-ul Range Rover viitor va fi cu adevarat o masina de lux, care va oferi performanta sporita, caracteristici esentiale si cele mai bune recenzii de la clienti.
